FAQ about our Paper Liners
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Will these compostable bags break down or leak in the Australian summer heat?
Our bags are Extra Thick and designed to withstand the Aussie heat. While they are certified to break down, they won't disintegrate in your kitchen caddy! To prevent leaks from juicy summer fruits or seafood, we recommend changing the bag every 2-3 days during heatwaves and keeping your caddy in a cool spot out of direct sunlight.
Will using paper liners attract flies or maggots in the summer heat?
Actually, paper liners can help reduce the risk! Unlike plastic that traps heat and moisture (which pests love), our breathable kraft paper allows moisture to escape from your food scraps. This dries out the waste slightly, slowing down fermentation and reducing the bad smells that attract flies in the first place.
Top Tip: To keep your council green bin pest-free, simply roll or fold the top of the paper bag firmly before tossing it in.
What is compostable certification?
Certification to AS 4736 verifies that a plastic product will fully break down in an industrial composting environment, ensuring it is truly compostable.
For a product to be certified, it must completely break down and return to nature within six months in an industrial composter, starting with fragmentation within 12 weeks.
Can I put sharp items like fish bones in these bags?
Yes, absolutely. Our bags are designed to be superiorly Puncture Resistant. While plastic bags often tear when poked by sharp objects, our reinforced paper is tough enough to handle seafood shells, fish bones, and meat scraps. You can confidently toss in sharp, wet waste knowing the bag is leak-proof and the bottom won't fall out.
Do I need a plastic caddy to use these bags?
No, not at all! Our unique design means these bags are self-standing Kitchen Caddy Sacks. You can simply open one up and place it directly on your kitchen benchtop. They function as sturdy, standalone Food Scrap Bags, allowing you to collect waste conveniently without the mess of washing a plastic bin.
Are these Kitchen Caddy Sacks strong enough for wet food waste?
No. Unlike thin cornstarch bags, our reinforced Kraft paper is breathable and highly Puncture Resistant. It allows moisture to evaporate, keeping the bag strong even when full. These are heavy-duty Eco Friendly Bin Liners designed to handle wet coffee grounds, fruit peels, and even chicken bones without bursting.
Are these bags completely plastic-free?
They are made from strong grams kraft paper reinforced with cutting-edge technology, containing absolutely no plastic or microplastics.
How do I know these bags are truly eco-friendly
We take sustainability seriously. Our bags are AS 4736 certified paper liners NSW, which means they meet the strictest Australian standards for biodegradability and safety, ensuring they break down naturally without harming the environment.
